Art

I had this idea of producing some art for my opening novel to use on the website and generally extend The Inner Lands as a “brand”. Carlo had entered an image of Draneth to a competition I ran for the cover designs. Although it wasn’t appropriate for the book cover, I loved the hand-drawn style so approached him about buying the image. He said I could have it for free.

I asked if he’d like to produce more, as part of a paid project, and he loved the idea. In fact, he was so enthusiastic about about it that he ended up producing a book trailer for me, also for free. If anybody else needs some artwork, I’d highly recommend Carlo, he was great to work with and always understood exactly what I wanted.

Some of the descriptions I provided were lengthy but others were only a line or two and you can see below what he managed to come up with.

Description provided: Sill’s father threatening her and Raffin with drinks bottle inside wooden hut with fire starting to spread behind him.

InnerLands_Quiet_07
Description provided:  Sill and Raffin holding hands on the wall (from reverse so no need for faces. Silhouette brings out the importance of them holding hands, rather than any other detail).
