A. J. Austin grew up in Devon, England, surrounded by a wealth of countryside and the rugged backdrop of Dartmoor.
He began reading books at an early age where fantasy and science fiction became his favourite genres with the lure of new and unique worlds an ever-tantalising prospect. A.J. started writing creatively in his teens – mostly song lyrics and poems at first – as a means of expressing himself freely.
Coming from a small town without many prospects he decided to pursue further education where he achieved a bachelors degree in Media Studies, Film Studies and Creative Writing. The Inner Lands was born here and has been growing, both in his mind and on paper, ever since. The Inner Lands started as a simple scene used for one of his University papers and has evolved exponentially, breeding intricate characters, a deep world with a rich history and future, a mysterious monstrous race, and exploring themes such as psychology, the loss of innocence and overcoming adversity.
A.J. now calls the North of England home and is currently drinking far too much caffeine in a bid to complete epic fantasy series The Inner Lands, as well as bring you fresh content in the shape of an exciting new Sci Fi series. A.J. leads a healthy lifestyle with other interests in fitness, wildlife, film, gaming and music.
