Ok, so if you’ve ever visited my Facebook page, you may have already noticed a sneak-peak of my second cover in the banner image, but it’s nice to be able to finally show this in its full glory.
When I first worked with Tracy at www.virtuallypossibledesigns.com (great name by the way), I asked her to design covers for all three books, not just the first one. You see, I like to plan ahead. I wanted to visualise the books as a collection. I wanted to invest whilst I had the money and, perhaps more importantly, I wanted the motivation to make this series a reality.
Revealing a cover feels like it makes the book real. I’ve waited until now because last week I uploaded all the files to Amazon and Ingram Spark (the two companies that handle distribution) and scheduled a release date for the 30th June 2020. As I write, two paperback proof copies are in the post, snaking their way towards me from whatever corners of the world they were printed in.
After three years of craft, struggle and (often tedious) perfection, I’ll soon be able to hold my creation in my hands. No doubt that first copy will be caressed, studied…perhaps even rejected, but I’m on the final straight now. The work is done. This is the time for celebration, reflection, and sharing.
